Survey shows relaxed attitude to secret debt
Posted in Debt News, on Tuesday, February 14th, 2006A survey by credit monitoring service MyCallcredit suggests that secret debts are not the relationship-killer that they may once have been, with only one in 10 of those surveyed saying that they would consider ending a relationship if they discovered their partner had secretly built up debts.
Nearly 80% of people said they would forgive their partner, and give them help to sort out their finances.
The survey also showed a high level of financial opennes between couples, with two out of 3 people saying they told their partners everything about their financial situations.
One in 7 kept their partners completely in the dark, while only one in 10 admitted actively lying about the state of their debts.
