Money worries ruin sex lives

A report by insurance company AXA estimates that up to 2 million Britons have had their sex lives affected by money worries, with women twice as likely to see financial troubles kill their libidos.

The report says that money worries can lead to people spending less time with their partners, and that a reluctance to discuss finances because of anxiety can build barriers in a relationship, with around two thirds of people in difficulties saying they avoided talking about the problem with their partners.

A spokesperson for AXA commented:

“When the original money problem breeds a second, more personal, problem with their relationship, it can make things much harder to deal with.”
